Collingwood

Collingwood was not the place I planned to come to. Two hours north of Toronto, I came here just to meet friends. A husband and wife friend who have known each other for two or three years in the Bay Area just finished their one-year round-the-world trip. They just returned to their Canadian parents’ home in April to stay for a while. I don’t know how long they will stay, but they are in Canada where I just came. Thought we'd meet in Toronto, but they were housesitting near Niagara Falls last week, and they just returned to his parents' house near Collingwood on Tuesday. I heard that there are some hiking parks nearby, next to the Great Lakes, and the natural scenery is good. Anyway, I drive, so I can go to their parents' house conveniently, and I can live there for a few days. Arrived at his house on Thursday morning and went for a walk outdoors with the whole family. They have had several online interviews in the past few days, and they are all companies in Europe. They plan to move to Europe for a long-term residence. Went to Thornbury in the afternoon, the scenery was very nice, my friend's mother asked us to go to a dam to watch the salmon go upstream, now is the season, but unfortunately we didn't see a single fish. But then I saw a big white swan and saw some locals fishing.

Then they took me to Blue Mountain, which is a ski resort. Although it is called Blue Mountain, it is actually a hill, not high at all.

Both friends had interviews on Friday morning, so I went for a run in the morning. There were almost no cars on the streets of the town, and it was very clean. After running back, my friend made Dutch baby pancakes and ate them with the whole family. My friend's parents will go to Toronto to watch the Maple Leave team's ice hockey game at night. Ice hockey is considered a national game here. It is said that they have never watched any game (on TV or live). My friend's mother was very enthusiastic and showed me the RV trailer they bought a few years ago, which was very interesting. After that, my friend took me to Wasaga Beach, which is the freshwater beach with the longest coastline in the world. It is said that it is overcrowded in summer. In the afternoon we went to buy some ingredients and planned to make Tahiti’s poisson cru Polynesian lemon marinated sashimi. Unlike the sashimi in Peru and other places, they will add coconut milk. They ate it several times during their trip there, so came back and wanted to make it themselves. We bought too much raw fish, and we ended up eating too much, because if we don't eat it while it's fresh, it should be wasted.

It rained on Saturday and Sunday, so Friday decided to drive back early on Saturday morning. But before you leave, you must go to Da Tong Hua, a large Chinese supermarket, to stock up and bring back to the United States. Driving from a friend's house to Windsor, the border between Canada and the United States, I will pass by Waterloo on the way, and see that there is a T&T Supermarket there. The two of them went to college there, but there was no supermarket there at that time. I bought Sixi Roasted Bran, Sauce Beef, Husband and Wife’s Lung Slices, Spicy Quail Eggs, Egg Yolk Crisp, Red Bean Glutinous Rice, Palace Pastry, Yunpian Cake, Wife Cake, Pineapple Bun and Meat Floss Seaweed Bun. ah. Those cooked food and some pastries expired in two or three days. Fortunately, I drove back to Chicago in one day, and it was estimated that they would be wiped out in two days. This is the perfect end to my trip to Canada. When I crossed the border back to the United States, it was obviously much stricter than when I came here, and the immigration officer asked a lot of questions. When I saw the sign next to it, I suddenly remembered that meat products are not allowed to enter the country, but in order to go back to eat delicious food, I must have not said that I brought meat products, which made me a little worried.
