Taipei

I knew the Taiwan Immigration Agency hadn't finished tossing me yet! When I entered the customs, it said that I did not book a ticket to leave Taiwan, and I was not allowed to enter. It's because I haven't planned which city to fly out of yet, so I haven't decided yet. At that time, I could only retreat to the back to book the air ticket now. After a long time of tossing, I booked it online. As a result, the staff glanced at the confirmation page on my mobile phone and let me pass by in seconds. I really wondered if she would check if I said that I had booked a ticket... Anyway, I finally entered Taiwan, and I have mixed feelings! It is very convenient to take the MRT (subway) from Taipei Airport to the city.

My sofa owner took me to the Ningxia Night Market on a motorcycle. It was late at night and there were supper everywhere. There were so many delicious foods! My sofa owner strongly recommended that I get a Taiwan MRT Subway Card (Easy Card), which is convenient and can be kept as a souvenir. I didn't expect that he specially prepared a sticker with my name in case I lost it or got mixed up with someone else's, it's so thoughtful! This EasyCard can also be recharged to ride the shared bicycle YouBike, and the first 30 minutes are free. After traveling in Southeast Asia for a month, I suddenly felt a little uncomfortable ordering and paying for food in my native language. Finally, I no longer had to rely on local friends to order food. In Taipei, eating and drinking are not allowed on the MRT buses.

The next day, the uncle from Taipei whom I met on the sofa guest app took me on a day trip to the suburbs of Taipei. First went to the Yuexing 360 revolving restaurant in Beitou District to watch the scenery for free, then went to Ruifang, Houtong Cat Village, Jiufen, Keelung, Xiandongyan, Yehliu, Yangmingshan, Chinese Culture University and Grand Hotel. Visited the coast of the northeast corner of Taiwan. He is very knowledgeable, introducing me to the sights along the way, and recommending local delicacies from all over the place, and told me a lot of stories about the guests he brought from all over the world while driving. He is 66 years old this year. He has a particularly good memory and excellent legs and feet. It is difficult for me to keep up with him. Out of courtesy, I paid the uncle's fare and fuel, and thanked him for taking the time to play with me. I ate stinky tofu, crispy taro balls, pork liver soup, red bean wheel pancakes, egg pancakes, Ah Xia’s dragon and phoenix legs, peanut ice cream, grandma Lai’s taro balls, taro balls, jelly grass pudding, and peanut butter at the night market last night and today Large pieces of mochi and milkfish sushi. In the evening, we returned to Taipei and went to the Sanhe Night Market. In the evening, I went back to Taipei and went to the Sanhe Night Market. I tried fish balls, oyster omelets, ice balls and milk tea.

On the third day, I ate carrot cake, soy milk, basil omelette and rice balls for breakfast. After that, I went to visit the National Palace Museum in Taipei. I felt that there are endless treasures here. There is a small group of Falun Gong practitioners at the gate of the Palace Museum. Shilin Mansion Park happened to be in time for the Chrysanthemum Exhibition. A local friend took me to the Maji Market and the Flower Expo Farmer’s Market in Yuanshan Park. There were many citizens enjoying the weekend with their children and puppies. I ate braised pork rice here.

In the afternoon, I climbed up to Xiangshan Mountain to see the Taipei 101 building. The moment I took the MRT out of Ximending, I felt that I had traveled to Tokyo. There are no shared bicycles such as Mobike in Taiwan. I rode a Youbike to visit the Red House in Ximen, Liberty Square, and the Presidential Palace. From Vietnam to Taiwan, seeing such clean streets and such local people obeying the traffic rules, we still need to get used to it.
