Shanghai (2)

I went to Jing'an Temple, which is very popular with incense. I don't believe in Buddhism or worship Buddha, I just come for a stroll. After that, I ate the Lai Lai Xiao Long Bao, which is a favorite of the locals, with Fa Xiaoer. It is said to be much more delicious than the famous Nanxiang Xiao Long Bao. The place is not big, and it is full during lunch break. Next to it, you can see the freshly made Xiaolongbao and wontons in the kitchen. This is the first time I ate such a big wonton. I ordered too much and I was stuck.

In the afternoon, I went to Tianzifang and a few other places to hang out. In the evening, I met the daughter of a Shangrao elder brother who works in Shanghai on the Sichuan-Tibet line, and went to a Japanese restaurant for dinner together. Although it was the first time we met, we still had a good chat with my peers, and learned about the living conditions of young people working in Shanghai.

The next day I went to the world's largest Starbucks, but unfortunately I basically don't drink coffee, just stroll around. It's really hard to find a quiet place in Shanghai. I went to several drinking places and they were all full and noisy. Finally, I found a bookstore on the top floor of a shopping mall near People's Square. It was very quiet and I could still see People's Square.

At noon, I had lunch with the local team leader who took the students to Guilin last year. He is a vegetarian, so he came to this vegetarian restaurant and had the healthiest meal he had during the two months of travel. I went to the Bund for a walk in the evening, and there were so many people watching the night view! Tiananmen Square is everywhere!

On the last day in Shanghai, I woke up early to eat super delicious beef fried buns and Shanghai fried dough sticks (really different from Beijing). I went to the International Restaurant and queued up to buy Butterfly Cakes, Taikang Fresh Meat Mooncakes, Wang Dacheng's various dumplings and Tiaotou cakes, and brought them home for my parents to eat. I will go back to my big Beijing in the afternoon, and I miss the dry heat of Beijing.
