I made complaints about VivaAir cheap airlines. If you don’t have a paper boarding pass, you will not be allowed to board the plane with an electronic boarding pass. I left in a hurry and forgot my glasses at the sofa owner's house in Bogotá. When I arrived in Medellin, I received a message from him asking for my address here, and he would send it for me.

As soon as I got off the plane in Medellin, I realized that in Bogota two days ago, because there was a local sofa owner who accompanied me all the time, I didn’t need to worry about language and transportation issues at all. The sofa owner in Medellin only told me to take a bus from the airport to the city center, and then take a taxi to his house. There are several types of airport buses, and the differences and destinations are not marked, so I asked a girl in the queue, she could only speak a little English, so I had to bite the bullet and use my half-bottled Spanish to ask her where she should sit. Questions about which car to go to the city center etc. She said that it is enough to sit with her, and she is also going to the city center. Along the way, she introduced me to the fun and delicious things in Medellin. Half an hour later, my eyes suddenly lit up, and I finally saw this city surrounded by mountains. When we got to the city center, we got out of the car together. She waited with me to take an Uber taxi. I was afraid that she would come to work late and say that you don’t have to wait with me. The car is not safe.

After getting out of the car, I found that I couldn’t contact the owner of the sofa. There was no reply to my WhatsApp text messages or calls, and I couldn’t find the address on the map. I can only ask the girl at the canteen next door, she doesn't speak English at all. She doesn't live here and doesn't know exactly where it is, but she asked two or three people around for me, and then she came out of the store and said she would take me there, but she couldn't find it on the way and asked a few more people. I said you don't need to go back to the store to get busy? She said I was a shopkeeper and it was fine. Because I only have Internet, I can only use WhatsApp voice calls to contact the sofa owner, but no one has answered. This girl offered to use her mobile phone to call my sofa owner. When I arrived at the owner of the sofa, I realized that there was something wrong with his mobile phone. The software voice call did not prompt at all, and it had to be restarted to recover. He apologized to me in various ways. He is a Venezuelan who works as a courier by himself. Now the domestic situation in Venezuela is very turbulent, and many people have come to Colombia. There are 8 people living in his family: his wife and children, sister, brother-in-law and their children, and two friends, including me, there are nine! He can speak a little English, and we communicated in various Spanish and English. His wife made coffee for me and made Venezuelan-style arepa tortillas for breakfast, which was different from the Colombian arepas I ate before. Venezuelan arepas are stuffed in the middle. Chatted with their family until noon, taught them some English, and got a lot of travel advice in Medellin. During the three days in Colombia, I have received help from so many local people, and I feel very warm.

All the means of transportation in Medellin are basically experienced today: small cable cars up and down the mountain, subways, buses and taxis. The first three types are common for bus cards. The owner of the sofa gave me a bus card that he doesn't use, and I can use it after charging money. Because his home is on the mountain, the first public transportation in Medellin was the small cable car (metrocable). After getting off the small cable car, you can directly transfer to the subway. The whole subway is very clean, spacious and tidy. I still wonder why the public transportation system in Bogota, the capital, is so poor that there is not even a subway. In the evening, I had the opportunity to take a few bus stops, and I had to queue up to get on the bus, which was comparable to the Beijing subway.

In addition to Uber, the locals recommended a cheaper taxi app, Beat, and later learned that Didi Taxi can also be used here, amazing! I took a few taxis and found that no matter where they are, although there is a bit of a language barrier, most of the brothers are still quite able to chat. Chatting with them, I learned that according to the license plate number of the private car, there are two days a week during the peak commute time, which is similar to some big cities in China.

Medellin feels like Yunnan plus Chongqing: spring city and mountain city. Medellin is known as the Spring City (La ciudad de la eterna primavera). It is like spring all year round, but it is always climbing. Most of the cars are still manual transmission, and it is not easy to change gears frequently when climbing hills.

In the afternoon, I went to the famous Comuna 13 community in Medellin. A few years ago, it was the most dangerous community in the city, but now it is the most colorful and incredible community full of street graffiti art. There are also specially built escalators (Escaleras Electricas) all the way to the mountain, similar to the ones in Universal Studios. Later, I heard from the tour guide that although the law and order here has improved a lot, it is best not to stray from the main road and go for a walk in the side road. There are still many gangs living in this community, which will not be safe.

Then I went to the Joaquín Antonio Uribe Botanical Garden in Medellin, where I saw a giant lizard on the roadside. Then I went to Plaza Botero Botero Square. I just visited the Botero painting exhibition in Bogota yesterday, and today I saw the sculpture he donated to his hometown city in Medellin. On the streets near here, there are many peddlers pushing a bunch of kettles selling coffee, and there are also various stalls selling pirated CDs. It's ironic that most of the disc sellers around the Basílica Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria here are pornographic, and I don't know the specific reason.

In the evening, I met a local friend on the sofa guest software, and went to eat the famous local dish mondongo together. I chatted with him in Spanish most of the time and learned some Spanish words. But he is also good at English, I also taught him some English. After that, he took me around the El Poblado area, which is basically a tourist gathering area, with many bars, restaurants and youth hostels. Noticeably more English can be heard. I'm glad I didn't live in this area. If I lived here, I would definitely not have the opportunity to experience the life of the locals. My sofa owner's house is relatively remote, and almost no one in the surrounding residential area can speak English.

Medellin is also very beautiful at night. It was very late when I got back to the owner of the sofa, and I was told that there was only cold water in the shower, and it was a common phenomenon.
