Guangzhou

I took the high-speed train to Guangzhou last night. My Couch Chef is an amazing cook, she had just cooked a whole table when I got to her house. She was another vegetarian I met on this trip. I went to Sun Yat-Sen University the next morning, but I couldn’t get in. It’s very strict here, and you have to swipe your ID at the door like a subway to get in. Then pass by the Sacred Heart Cathedral. Then at noon when I was looking for food in the streets and alleys, I saw a girl walking a cat and wanted to ask her how to train. She said that this was the first day, no wonder the cat barked and jumped up and down. I ate egg rice rolls at the Senji Snack Shop on Tongfu Road, and ate traditional sweets at Fragrant Dessert. At noon, go to the temple where the sofa master's friends often go to discuss issues related to Krishna, life and death, and faith. The British friend who the sofa owner met when he was a volunteer in Malaysia last year just arrived in Guangzhou today. I took him out to visit Shamian and Shangxiajiu Commercial Pedestrian Street. He was only 18 years old, and he asked me many good questions about Chinese cultural life along the way, which made me miss my students in the United States especially. He had never had bubble tea before, so I forced him to buy a cup and try it. In the evening, my friend who sent me a child invited me to eat at the Cantonese restaurant Zibeiyuan, thank you for the warm hospitality. Back at the sofa house, although I was already very full, I couldn't help but taste the oat noodles she just made.

Baiyun Mountain is a good place, with mountains, water and bungee jumping. I haven't seen a sunny day since I went to Shenzhen on New Year's Day, but I finally saw the blue sky this afternoon. Continue to look for food. I ate set powder emperor and rice rolls at Hexing Snack Shop, drank double skin milk and ginger bump milk at Shawan Dessert Restaurant, and ate egg tarts at Jiale Egg Tart King. In the afternoon, we passed Zhujiang New Town, Huacheng Square, Guangzhou Grand Theater and Canton Tower "Xiaomanyao". The night view here is still beautiful. When I returned to the sofa house at night, I found that the team of sofa guests here continued to grow, and a new German girl arrived, which was surprisingly similar to my previous itinerary. The owner of the sofa originally wanted to make dumplings, but the noodles were a bit watery, so he made noodles with fish instead.

In order to thank our sofa owner for his warm reception, the three of us got up early at 7:00 and invited her to have morning tea with Dou De, because she had to go to work later. After eating and drinking enough, I went to Chimelong Paradise to play the roller coaster. I don’t remember when was the last time I rode a roller coaster. As soon as I went in, there was no need to queue up, and I played four large roller coasters that were more exaggerated than the last in a row. I flipped and stood upside down in various ways, and the blood rushed to my forehead. It's strange that there are few people who don't need to line up, and there is no buffer time between each roller coaster. After riding these large roller coasters, we are so dizzy that we can only step on a sky bike to relieve it. I guess it's too old to play anymore. In the afternoon, I watched several great performances, and the performers were basically foreigners. I also tried the VR virtual reality roller coaster for the first time, which is quite interesting.

I went back to the city to visit the Great Buddha Temple, and then took the German girl to Yinji Rice Noodles Shop to eat egg rice rolls and mushroom rice rolls, and went to Baihua Dessert Shop to taste sugar water: black sesame paste, red bean barley, mango poplar Zhi Gan Lu Sago, has been highly praised.
