Graneda (2)

Since I rarely make specific plans in advance when traveling now, I only found out a few days ago that the number of tickets is limited every day, and the tickets before May are all booked. It is said that sometimes tickets need to be booked a year in advance. The Indian couple I met yesterday just went to visit, and I suggested that I spend a little more money to sign up for an explanation group that includes tickets. Fortunately, I listened to their suggestions, otherwise it would be a pity to miss it!

In the morning, climb to San Miguel Alto, one of the highest lookout points in Granada, overlooking the entire city and the Alhambra Palace. Because I went so early, no one could see it except me. A man sat quietly in front of the church for a long time. Just before going down the mountain, a local high school student came, so someone can take a photo for me. When going down the mountain, I followed the route on Google Maps and found that the more I walked, the more I went wrong. The small dirt road became narrower and narrower, and finally there was no way to go. I did hear yesterday that the area of Sacromonte is easy to get lost, and the map is useless. At that time, it was very close to the time for the Alhambra explaining group to enter the palace, so I had to hurry back to the highest point and go down the mountain on the other side. At that time, I really ran all the way down the mountain, and I ran back for 20 minutes after walking for 40 minutes. While running, I thought to myself: Fortunately, my sister usually practiced long-distance running, just for this moment. It took a lot of effort to find the meeting point for the explanation group. When I arrived, I was already sweating profusely, but luckily I didn’t miss the start of the group.

The Alhambra Palace is an ancient mosque, palace, and castle complex built during the Moorish Dynasty. It is one of the world's cultural heritage sites and the most visited place by tourists in Spain. The tour guide of the explanation group took us around for three hours, and then we can continue to visit if we have time.

Before leaving Granada, I met a beautiful German girl for lunch. She had worked as a large-scale event planner for eight years before, but now she is a flight attendant for Lufthansa. She has a lot of holidays a year, and she travels around for work reasons. Later, the conversation became more and more speculative, and there were too many similar experiences. When she was a child, her family lived in San Francisco for a year. Now her sister works in the Bay Area, not far from me. She often visits relatives. She also traveled to Colombia in the same two weeks as me last year, but in order to learn salsa dance, she only went to Cali, which is famous for its salsa, and Cali is the only big city I didn't go to. She also booked an explanation group for the Alhambra just yesterday, and she booked the same travel company on the same day as me, just at a different time. Finally, when it comes to emotional experiences, they are also super similar. It's a pity that I'm going to the next city soon in the afternoon, and I don't have time to chat with her. Finally, we shared food information and other travel information with each other.

Several friends are loyal fans of "Memories of the Alhambra". Before leaving the city, they bought a postcard and sent it to friends at the post office.
