Chengdu (1)

The first night in Chengdu after returning from Huanglong in Jiuzhaigou. I went to eat Chuan Chuan hot pot with the Nanjing girl I met in the group, and it was very satisfying. It was quite late when we came out of the restaurant, and there were quite a lot of people on the street. It felt like the nightlife of Chengdu people had just begun! All kinds of restaurants on the street were full of people, and groups of young people shopping near the IFS International Financial Center were particularly lively. After reluctantly saying goodbye to the girl from Nanjing who I had a good time chatting with, I went to check in at the B&B. The next morning, the beautiful hostess of the B&B let me taste her homemade brown sugar hair cake.

After breakfast, I started my one-day trip to Chengdu. Wuhou Temple, Jinli, People's Park, Chunxi Road, Taikoo Li, Wenshu Monastery, Jiuyan Bridge. I haven't had time to go shopping in Kuanzhai Alley, so let's wait until the Qinghai-Tibet Line comes back. I feel that Chengdu is still a very livable city. The pace of life is slow, but the city is very developed and well-constructed. When I went to Wuhou Temple, it was raining lightly, and it was very quiet inside. Jinli is relatively commercial, but the various small shops inside are quite interesting. There are those who sell freshly ground chili, shadow puppets, sugar blowers, and sugar painters.

Of course, there are also a lot of delicious food here, and I tasted a lot of Chengdu snacks: Zhongshui dumplings, ice powder, brown sugar glutinous rice cakes, Guokui, etc.

People's Park is still very down-to-earth. There are blind dates, people playing cards, playing chess and drinking tea, singing opera, dancing group dances, and people picking their ears. It's really a scene.

Afterwards, I went to Dongzikou Zhang Laoer jelly recommended by the locals. It really is an Internet celebrity, and the long queues are all out of the store. The shop is very small, with only five or six tables and small benches inside. I went in and ordered sweet water noodles, jelly guokui with stewed pork and pea jelly. It's super cheap and tastes great. I just like this street stall. When I was full, I went to the Wenshu Monastery next to it. It didn't take long to enter and it was almost closing time. After leaving Wenshu Monastery, we went to Jiuyan Bridge. There are many taverns on both sides of the river. The singers in several bars passing by were playing guitar and singing "Chengdu", which made Chengdu popular by Zhao Lei.
