Moving across the United States by car (3) – Denver, Colorado

Departed from Salt Lake City at 6 o'clock on Friday morning, and drove ten hours to Denver. My friend recommended me to drive a slightly longer road, but the scenery along the way will be much better. On Friday, I went to housesit in the suburbs of Denver to show the house to the owner. This house is much bigger than the first one I saw before. The couple are taking a ski vacation to the nearby mountains this long weekend for four…

Moving across the United States by car (2) – Salt Lake City, Utah

I booked an Airbnb for two nights in Salt Lake City. This Airbnb is located in a gated community, and the owner happened to have a spare parking space for me to park. This is one of the rare Airbnbs where the owner himself lives here. Before I entered the house and said a few words to the owner, he told me that his English was not good, and asked me if I could speak Spanish. he…

Moving across the US by car (1) – Elko, Nevada

I decided to drive across the United States and move back to Chicago, where I lived for four years. The reasons are complicated and I won’t talk about it, but in simple terms, it is to continue on the road and have more freedom. Before leaving this week, I ate glutinous rice balls, ultra-authentic Vietnamese beef noodles, turrón nougat brought back from my hometown by a Spanish friend, and ate delicious food with my classmates at the back table of junior high school...

Two and a half weeks after returning to the US

On the second day after I came back, I took the subway from Oakland to San Francisco with my friends. As soon as I entered the subway station, I saw a circle of uncles and aunts kicking shuttlecock downstairs. It was probably too cold outside. When we arrived in San Francisco, it was cloudy everywhere. When I walked to the farmer’s market on Saturday, I saw an organization teaching how to make a Singaporean cold sashimi salad with auspicious meanings for celebrating the Spring Festival.…

Portland, Crater Lake, California Redwood State Park (down south)

There's not much else to do in Vancouver other than eat, so we decided to go back to the US early and go to a few more places on the way. When I went back to the United States to cross the border, I stood in line for two and a half hours. The road from Northern California to Canada did not pay any tolls or tolls, but the irony is that you have to pay the tolls to go to the Sanban urban area.

    Portland, Seattle (up north)

During the Christmas vacation, I planned to fly to Portland alone and then play in Vancouver. I mentioned it to my friend, and he decided to join me without any arrangements for the Christmas vacation. Since there were two of them, they drove north instead. Yesterday, I drove almost 8 hours to Bend, Oregon at midnight. I got up in the morning and went hiking on the small hill of Pilot Butte in the city. It was really cold in the early morning...
