I got through the customer service of Bank of America early in the morning and was finally able to withdraw cash, and I felt more at ease with some money. When I arrived at the Youth Hostel in Siem Reap, Cambodia, I asked about the ticket price of Angkor Wat at the front desk of the lobby. Here I met a Malaysian girl and a British brother. The Malaysian girl works in Singapore. Due to the high pressure of work, she decided to resign and travel. She went to Vietnam for a month and stayed in Cambodia for a few weeks. She traveled by car. She likes to stay in one place for a long time. The British brother is an architect working in London. The three of us hit it off, and within two hours, we efficiently planned the Angkor Wat carpool itinerary for the next two days, and booked tickets at the front desk.

In the afternoon, I signed up for a tour group and went to Kompong Phluk floating village. The houses here are all built on stilts on the water, and each family has a boat as a means of transportation. I can’t imagine how inconvenient it is to live here. After experiencing the poor living conditions of the locals during my travels, I will cherish my current life all the more. After that, we took a boat rowed by local villagers to shuttle through the jungle, which was very primitive. The rowers are all women of all ages, and I saw an old lady who lost her teeth rowing. It was getting dark, and we went to Tonle Sap Lake to watch the sunset. When it was sunset, a buddy was so intoxicated that he took off his clothes and pants and jumped from the boat into the lake.

In the evening, I went to the night market for dinner with the Malaysian girl and the British brother. I ate Lok Lak, a Cambodian Khmer specialty. This is a home-cooked dish in Cambodia. It is actually fried beef rice with sauce.

In the early morning, I took a tuk-tuk ride all the way to the Benteay Srei Temple in the outer ring. The Queen's Palace is still quite small, and it won't take long to finish the stroll. Because of the time, the tuk-tuk driver added a new itinerary for us, and went to the Pre Rup Temple in the big circle. There are several temples in the small circle of Angkor Wat: Bayon, Ta Keo, Ta Prohm, Banteay Kdei, Tomanon Temple, Chou Sa Temple, Phnom Bakheng. My favorite is Ta Prohm Temple, where the entire temple is integrated with the surrounding woods, and many tree roots are exposed. This is also one of the filming locations of "Tomb Raider". There are 54 pagodas, each with four sides, and a total of 216 different Khmer smiles. The Bayon Temple is also good, but because it is full of domestic middle-aged and elderly tour groups, the experience is greatly reduced, and the queues for taking pictures are crowded together, and other tourists can't get through. The local tour guide has to ask them to line up to take pictures and not block the road. We left the most classic little Angkor Wat at the last stop. When we arrived, it started to rain lightly, and everyone else ran out. We went in. It was very close to the closing time, and it happened to be clean again. I have seen too many temples in two days. Although they are beautiful, I feel a little tired after seeing too many temples.

Today is more casual, wandering aimlessly in Siem Reap, strayed into the old market of the locals, Old Market, and finally ate desserts that are comparable to Thailand: coconut cakes, coconut milk desserts. Also tasted a strange fruit: like beans, but a bit bitter. I have been so disappointed with Cambodian food these past few days, I have no desire to eat at mealtime every day. The menus in all places are similar, and I feel that there is nothing special about the local area. It seems that I want to blend Thai and Vietnamese rice and noodles, but they haven't melted well, don't use spices, and don't taste good. Fruits are not as fresh and varied as in Thailand.

There are quite a few Chinese middle-aged and elderly groups in Siem Reap. After a day of visiting Angkor Wat yesterday, the British brother who rode a tuk-tuk ride together has been able to accurately identify the Chinese middle-aged and elderly groups from a long distance. I went to the Royal Garden today, and the biggest gain was visiting the Angkor National Museum. In fact, I have never been very interested in museums, but this is the first time that I voluntarily, down-to-earth, without taking a quick look at the flowers, and even rented an audio guide to walk around a museum for three or four hours. I have a general understanding of the history of Angkor, the various gods in Hindu Buddhism, the architectural carving styles of Cambodia in different periods, and the Khmer language clothing. In the evening, I went to the Angkor Night Market and ate short noodle soup, leek box and freshly squeezed custard fruit juice. Then I went to Pub Street, which was so noisy. It’s better to go back to the youth hostel and go to the balcony on the top floor to see the scenery. I met a girl from Chengdu who has been to Southeast Asia many times.

On the last day in Siem Reap, I couldn't stop going to Phnom Kulen, Lychee Mountain. I wanted to swim in the waterfall, but it rained lightly all day, the temperature was a little low and the water was too cold, so I didn't go down. Before going to the airport, I went to the old market to eat something: shredded coconut glutinous rice balls, peanut burritos, coconut cakes and desserts. When I arrived at the airport boarding gate at night, I saw a girl who looked very familiar to me, but I just couldn’t remember where I had seen her before. Then her boyfriend suddenly appeared, and I remembered it. Then she looked up and saw me and recognized me. I sat in front of them on the bus from Phuket Airport to Phuket Town, Thailand, and had a brief chat with them. They are Chileans. Now it turned out to be taking the same flight from Cambodia to Vietnam. They said they saw me passing by the door when they were eating in Siem Reap last night. Later, after chatting, I found that the youth hostel I booked in Hanoi, Vietnam was very close. When I arrived in a while, I could take a taxi from the airport together.
